Photo Books Preserve Memories

Filed under: Photo Books — Photo Sharing Editor @ 9:34 am

Keeping up with family photos is not necessarily an easy task. When the memories are precious and need to be shared, there is a creative, distinct and fun way to make this happen. Photo books can preserve memories while allowing their creators to express themselves and their thoughts in the process.

One of the best ways to accomplish the creation of special photo sharing books is to go online and take advantage of the options available. Companies that specialize in the creation of photo books make it fast and easy for people to preserve and organize their memories in print and digital format. Offering programs that enable the complete design of photo books, the process involves nothing more than uploading photos, placing them on pages and writing in captions to explain their significance. The end result is a photo book that can be held on to, shared and treasured for years and years to come.

People use photo books for a number of different reasons. They are excellent for:

Recording special events – Photo books can be made out of birthday pictures, anniversary pictures, trip photos and more. When memories from special occasions are preserved in this manner, the resulting photo gifts tend to be cherished by those who create them and those who receive them as presents down the road.

Promoting a business – Photo prints made into photo books are great for businesses to use in marketing campaigns. This is a distinct and fun way to show off new products or services. Photo books can also work wonders for recruiting.

Organizing photo prints into photo books doesn’t have to take a long time. When online programs are used to help, the process is fast, simple and fun. The end result is a great way to share memories or show off products.

Photo Books for Big Birthdays

Filed under: Photo Books — Photo Sharing Editor @ 8:58 am

There are birthdays and then there are birthdays; those milestone birthdays that warrant grander festivities than the typical celebration. By celebrating those birthdays we are celebrating a life and the honoree is often showered with gifts that mark this special time. These milestone birthdays can be especially difficult to buy for; it may not seem like nearly enough to purchase the traditional gifts that one typically buys. Rather, more sentimental offerings tend to be far more appropriate for such birthdays.

To this end, many people understand how instrumental photographs can be when it comes to giving a heartfelt gift for a milestone birthday. Photo books, especially, can be a wonderful gift to give, chronicling a lifetime of memories or a time period that was particularly special or noteworthy. Through photo sharing websites users can create a unique photo book that is comprised of specially chosen photographs, complete with captions of the creator’s choosing. When considering photo books for your next milestone birthday, consider:

* A book of photographs depicting grandchildren throughout their lives for a milestone birthday celebrated by a grandparent.

* A book of memories for a milestone birthday for a parent. Photo books of this kind may include a particular family vacation or a lifetime of family memories year to year.

* Photo books for a child’s birthday – perfect for a sixteenth or eighteenth birthday – that shows them growing up through the years; their friends, their activities, their school dances, etc.

With photo sharing sites, users can simply upload those photographs they wish to include and begin the unique and personalized design of photo books for their special birthday loved one.

Photo Books for a Graduation Gift

Filed under: Photo Books — Photo Sharing Editor @ 7:22 am

The end of the school year is rushing towards us quite quickly and along with it is the deluge of graduations. High school seniors are finishing up their schooling and moving along to college or career; the graduation ceremony marks this special time with a formal celebration. For those of us attending the graduations of our family or friends, it may be difficult to know what an appropriate gift may be to mark this special time. While money and gift certificates are always safe – and certainly welcome – they do not do much to set this time apart in a special manner. Instead, gift-givers may consider personalized gifts for graduation such as photo books depicting the graduate’s school career.

Photo sharing sites are one of the wonderful offerings of the Internet; a place where users can go to upload and manage their photographs. While traditionally we would have developed our photographs in retail stores and photo shops and then spent the time to organize and place these photographs into albums, photo sharing sites allow us to handle the entire process virtually. Users can upload their photographs to the site straight from their digital camera and then set about managing those photographs in whatever way they choose – creating photo albums, photo gifts, or simply ordering prints for use at home.

Additionally, photo books can be created very quickly using chosen photographs and a little bit of creativity. If the gift-giver has access to photographs of a graduate throughout their schooling they can easily create a wonderful memento to present to them for graduation.

Photo Books Can Connect Children with Relatives

Filed under: Photo Books — Photo Sharing Editor @ 2:23 pm

It is surely our hope that our children will be able to meet – and certainly have a relationship with – those relatives that were important in our own childhoods. Life, however – as we know – may have other plans; and the reality may be that the only way that younger family members will “know” older generations is through the stories told about them and the photographs that they see. Photography plays an enormous role in our lives for exactly this reason; it is our touchstone to the past and our way of documenting our present lives so that future generations can know us on some level.

To this end, many of us take great pains in creating photo albums and photo books that hold our family photography. Traditionally, we would develop the photographs we had taken on our 35mm cameras, placing photos into photo albums and perhaps documenting each photo, including the family members in the photos, the date that the photo was taken, and the events that were taking place.

Today, through the magic of photo sharing sites, consumers have many more options available to them in terms of preserving their photography for future generations. Through photo sharing sites, users are able upload their photographs from their cameras after which they can save them into online photo albums and photo books. And if traditional photo albums are desired, consumers can order photo prints to be delivered to their door in a matter of days and for as little as .05 cents a print.

With the help of photo sharing sites, families can ensure that their photos are preserved and protected so that young family members can know their relatives and the history of their family.

Photo Books: Great for Travel

Filed under: Photo Books — Photo Sharing Editor @ 1:08 pm

Traveling the country –or the world – can be a wonderful thing; and something to which many of us aspire. But for those who actually travel for a living – or as a large portion of their job – life on the road can become somewhat grueling. What often helps those who travel a good portion of their year can be the bringing along of those things that remind them of home – a favorite pillow, a CD, and photographs of family and friends. To this end, photo books can make a wonderful travel companion and certainly a thoughtful gift to give to someone who travels quite often.

Photo books used to be something that we would put together manually – compiled from a number of photo prints that we had developed. Today, with the availability of photo sharing sites, consumers have the ability to create customized photo books online in just moments – and have them shipped right to their door in a matter of days.

The Internet has become the united front on which we can connect – regardless of where we are in the world. Photo sharing sites are an extension of this convenient arena; by uploading photographs we have taken with our digital camera and storing them in online photo albums we have the ability to share these photographs with family and friends around the world. Additionally, we can use these photographs to create a large variety of products – for far less than it would have cost traditionally.

In fact, the high end photo sharing sites that can now be found online offer consumers some of the lowest prices in the industry. For as little as .05 cents a copy, customers can order photo prints to be shipped to their home. And for some of the lowest prices they are likely to find anywhere they can create memorable gifts such as photo calendar, photo cards, and photo books to enjoy and make you feel at home no matter where you are in the world.

An Introduction to Photofun…

After the blog comment about “it being hard to find our contact information on our website,” I wanted to follow up with some more information about Photofun so potential new customers (Photofuners) could understand who we are; where we come from and what we do.

We launched www.photofun.com on Saturday March 15, 2008 and are getting a steady stream of visitors, many of whom have signed up (to become “Photofuners”), uploaded photos and have ordered one or more of our outstanding photo-products.

To give you some background about www.photofun.com:

Photofun is a Texas based corporation, with its U.S. headquarters in Dallas, TX.

Photofun started in Hengelo, a mid-size town in The Netherlands, in 2004 and has grown to become one of the leading photo-sharing services in Europe. Photofun does business in The Netherlands as Webprint C.V. (www.webprint.nl) and as Photofun, Inc., (www.photofun.com) in the USA. For ease I will call both companies Photofun when referring to our company.

Due to our success and the quality of our product we now have millions of customers all over Europe, with thousands of new customers signing up each week.

In November of 2007 the decision was made to enter the U.S. market and now here were are!

I joined Photofun in December to head up the U.S. venture. I have been in senior management leadership positions in the printing industry for over 20 years in the USA, and more recently (for the last five years) have been in the “on-demand and personal variable data digital printing sector.” My personal philosophy when it comes to business is to service the customer to the absolute maximum, to delight them with quality, service and price, and to be a market leader. I believe strongly that the company that I lead should be the leader in the marketplace in every element; creating excitement, and great products at competitive prices. I will do my utmost to create a unique company that will bring all of these elements to you.

For the last three months we have been working hard preparing for the launch of the U.S. website. Photofun is in full control of all production processes; everything we produce is manufactured entirely in-house. We own and write all of the programs that underpin the applications you will use on our site. In fact, at the very instant that you place an order, the product you have created (online), is transferred directly to a production printing device and printed automatically. The core of our business is built around our web-engine; it is due to this direct transfer of files that we are able to offer our ground- breaking low-prices and the reason that the quality of our product is so high.

All of your files are stored electronically on secure servers that are networked across the USA and Europe, using some of the most powerful and fast connectivity available today.

Photofun’s credo is “Quality & Innovation,” so we will constantly strive to bring new and high-quality innovative products and services to our site; we will continue to work hard to remain the technology leader in our field and to bring new products and services to our site for you to use so that you will always enjoy your experience when working with us!

Photofun’s corporate headquarters in the USA is located at: 7616 LBJ Freeway, Suite 540 Dallas, TX 75251.

Should you want to learn more about Photofun you can contact me. My email address is terry@photofun.com or my direct line is 214-473-5021.

I have personally made photo-products on our site (my wife and children love them) and as a fellow Photofuner I am blown away with their quality and value!

I look forward to working for you and sincerely hope that you enjoy your experience on our website… Please have Photofun!

Terry Rayner
President, Photofun, Inc.

One note: The engine for our website drives all of our applications and as we started in The Netherlands the base language used was Netherland’s (also known as Dutch) – we then used a conversion tool to convert the base language to American-English, British-English, French and German (to cover the languages of the countries our customers reside in); due to this, we are currently noticing a few minor language glitches. We are jumping on these glitches and are cleaning then up as we find them… if you see one please send me an email and I will credit your account with an additional 50 FREE 4” x 6” photos.

Industry Low Prices on Photo Prints Offer Consumers More Options

As modern consumers we are challenged with walking the line between needs and wants on a daily basis – all with an eye towards our household’s bottom line. It is a difficult challenge to say the least; especially when you consider all of the conveniences afforded to us – some of which provide a much easier way to accomplish those tasks that once cost us so much time and money. But there is such a thing as false economy and those consumers who are attracted by the opportunity to save money by taking on a project themselves often find the reward to come up quite a bit short. The do-it-yourself movement – having put tools in the hands of home renovators, amateur mechanics, and part time interior designers – is one such example where, unless you know for sure that the savings will be worth it, it is very often best left to the professionals.

One industry that has offered consumers a world of time and money-saving options is that of photo printing. After all, there are few among us who do not own a digital camera; and the industry has taken note – offering consumers low prices on photo quality printers. But those who have taken the bait and bought the high-end printer understand better than anyone that their financial investment was far from over. In order to continue to produce high-quality photo prints and the myriad projects that the average consumer wishes to do with their photos, there requires a continued investment in photo quality paper and ink. The result? A staggering .30 to .50 average cost per print!

Such prices are even more out of line when you consider what the average amateur photographer does with their photo prints. Keeping in mind that photos taken are generally used for everything from holiday photo cards to photo albums, it is not difficult to see how the industry is making their money.

Super retailers, understanding this trend – and their customers’ need for fast, inexpensive photo prints – are offering what has been considered rock bottom prices on photo prints; many under .20 cents a print. And online retailers are keeping pace. Some of the most well-known online photo services currently offer their customers rates as low as .10 cents a print.

Photo Fun, however, offers customers the comprehensive, high quality services they have come to expect from online photo services at the lowest prices available - .5 cents a print.

Faced with the expensive materials, the time spent on creating photo prints that are of the quality consumers have come to expect, and the unpredictability of the equipment, consumers are largely abandoning their hopes of creating an efficient at-home photo lab. With photo giants such as Photo Fun offering high-quality, fast printing for everything from photo gifts to photo books – at industry low prices – consumers know they just have to logon to have everything they need shipped straight to their door – at the lowest prices available.
